Registration for 2012-2013

posted 10 Sept 2012, 06:06 by Sean Walberg   [ updated 10 Sept 2012, 06:16 ]

We held registrations at Charleswood Centre for the group today. I had quite a number of sign ups for Beavers and Cubs but not a great number for the Scout and SERT sections.

A reminder that you only have until the 15th to register for the $180.00 registration amount. After that it will increase to $200.00 for the year. You can register on line at www.myscouts.ca or contact me at 204-797-6649 and I am willing to either come to your home or you can come to my home (767 Sturgeon Rd) so we can get you registered in time to get the discount.

Our first Scout meeting isn’t until after the 15th deadline (Sept. 18th) and the first SERT meeting is this coming Wednesday, Sept. 12th.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Yours in Scouting,

Ian MacLean

2012 East Winnipeg Camp - Lost and Found

posted 10 Jun 2012, 14:42 by Sean Walberg   [ updated 10 Jun 2012, 14:43 ]

Things were a bit... hectic... after we packed up and left on Saturday night, so when the leaders returned to finish packing the tents on Sunday, there were a few pieces of equipment separated from their owners.

If you recognize any of the equipment below, email Sean at sean@ertw.com and we can arrange to get it back to you.

Town hall - Winnipeg, March 15th

posted 6 Feb 2012, 09:52 by Sean Walberg

Attention all Leaders, Senior Youth, and Parents!

Members of the Manitoba Council Service Team are going on tour with a series of Town Halls.  We want to hear all about:

·         Your Scouting success stories

·         Road blocks that your Section, Group, or Area is encountering

·         And; creative solutions that you may have for commonly occurring road blocks

One road block that many groups will readily admit to having is a shortage of qualified and engaged volunteers as Section Leaders and Group Committee members.  To address this need, your Council Field Executive will be offering a seminar on “How to Effectively Recruit Volunteers”.

Who are these Town Halls for?

All Scouts Canada volunteers, Venturer and Rover aged youth, parents of youth in the organization, and anyone else who has an interest in seeing a healthy and thriving Scouting movement in their community!

If you are a volunteer with years of service to Scouting, we need your experience and wisdom.  If you are new to Scouting, we need your fresh set of eyes to help us find creative solutions.  Sharing knowledge and experience makes our whole organization stronger so please keep an eye out for a Town Hall happening near you.

Tour Dates:

·         March 15th Winnipeg – 17 Wing

·         March 24th Brandon

·         March 25th Winnipeg

Stay tuned for times and venues!
